Why Do I Always Feel the Need to Control Everything?
Why Do I Always Feel the Need to Control Everything?
What if your need for control is hiding a much older fear?
Planning everything.
Anticipating everything.
Organizing everything.
Checking several times that everything is in order.
Finding it difficult to delegate.
Never truly being able to let go.
For some people, control has become a way of life.
They feel that if they stop keeping everything under control, something terrible might happen.
So they control their work.
Their organization.
Their finances.
Their diet.
Their weight.
Their children.
Their relationship.
Their future.
And sometimes even the emotions of the people around them.
Yet behind this constant need to control everything often lies a much deeper fear.
Control is not always a desire for dominance.
More often, it is a way of protecting ourselves from something that seems impossible to control: uncertainty, loss, change, or the end of a cycle.
In my approach as a Karma and Dharma Reader, this is precisely what I explore: looking beyond visible behaviors to identify the deeper fears that keep these patterns alive—and helping to release them.
Control is a response to our deepest human fears
Throughout history, human beings have been confronted with fundamental fears.
The fear of the future.
The fear of losing what we love.
The fear of separation.
The fear of death.
The fear of seeing one chapter of our lives come to an end without knowing what comes next.
These profound fears are part of the human experience.
They accompany life's major transitions: change, grief, transformation, and new beginnings.
When these fears remain deeply rooted within us, we often try to regain control over everything around us.
As though planning every detail could protect us from the unknown.
As though anticipating every possibility could prevent loss.
As though controlling the present could reassure us about the future.
These are the inner spaces I explore during a Karma and Dharma Reading. I bring to light what lies behind the need for control and help release the fears that sustain these recurring patterns.
Control is an unconscious coping mechanism
When we feel safe, we accept uncertainty much more easily.
Conversely, when an old fear remains active, we naturally try to reduce uncertainty.
We want to know.
To predict.
To control.
To anticipate.
We begin believing that the more we control events, the less likely we are to suffer.
For many people, this mechanism becomes completely unconscious.
They no longer realize that they are living in a constant state of vigilance.
They do not control because they enjoy controlling.
They control because a part of them is still trying to avoid an old feeling of insecurity.
During my sessions, I meet these deep fears, identify what continues to nourish them, and help release them so that the person can experience greater inner peace.
Why do some fears seem so disproportionate?
Sometimes people are fully aware that their worries go far beyond reality.
They know their children are careful.
Their job is stable.
Their health is good.
Their eating habits are balanced.
And yet...
The anxiety remains.
The need to control never really disappears.
Why?
Because some fears do not arise solely from the present situation.
In my approach to Karma and Dharma Reading, I observe that some people carry older memories that continue to influence the way they experience the present.
These memories may be personal.
Family-related.
Transgenerational.
Or karmic.
They often revolve around universal themes: loss, abandonment, survival, fear of the future, the end of cycles, or difficulty accepting life's transformations.
During a session, I explore these deeper dimensions, uncover recurring patterns, and help release the fears that continue to sustain them.
Controlling food, weight, or the body
The need for control is not limited to relationships or work.
Some people also feel compelled to control every detail of their diet.
They count.
Calculate.
Restrict themselves.
Constantly monitor their weight.
Sometimes they feel that if their body escapes their control, their entire life will begin to fall apart.
Behind this search for mastery often lies a deeper fear: the fear of losing one's bearings, no longer feeling safe, or no longer recognizing the person one is becoming.
In my experience, this goes far beyond appearance.
It often reveals an older difficulty in accepting change and the natural transformations of life.
This is what I explore during a session: I look for the root of the fear, bring hidden patterns into awareness, and release what prevents the person from developing a more peaceful relationship with themselves.
Controlling your children... out of fear of the future
The same mechanism can appear in the relationship with children.
Some parents want to know every movement they make.
They make decisions on their behalf.
They anticipate every possible difficulty.
They intervene before a problem even exists.
Very often, this attitude is not a sign of a lack of love.
Quite the opposite.
It is born from an overwhelming fear that something might happen to them.
A fear of loss.
A fear of not being able to protect them.
A fear of the future and everything beyond our control.
This anxiety can become so overwhelming that it gradually prevents the child from developing their own independence.
During a Karma and Dharma Reading, I work with these deep fears that hide behind the need to protect. I help release them so the person can rediscover a healthier balance between love, trust, and letting go.
Trying to control the future
Some people live several years ahead of themselves.
They imagine every possible scenario.
Prepare for every possibility.
Try to avoid the slightest surprise.
They want to know what will happen before they have even lived the experience.
This fear of the future often appears irrational when viewed objectively.
Yet it is profoundly real for the person experiencing it.
Our deepest human fears are often connected to what we cannot control: the passing of time, change, separation, and the end of life cycles.
Intellectually, we know that everything evolves.
Yet a part of us may still resist this natural law of life.
In my work, I observe that this fear may be sustained by unconscious mechanisms or by older memories that continue feeding a deep sense of insecurity.
This is precisely what I address during a session: I identify these memories, release their influence, and help the person move forward with greater confidence.
What I observe during Karma and Dharma Readings
Over the years, I have found that behind the need for control there are almost always deep fears.
Fears that go far beyond the visible situation.
Behind the fear of losing a job may lie an older fear of scarcity.
Behind the fear of a child moving away may lie a fear of separation.
Behind the fear of change may lie a difficulty accepting the end of a life cycle.
In my Karma and Dharma Readings, I explore these deeper dimensions to uncover the recurring mechanisms that continue to shape people's lives.
Some people come to a session with a very specific concern: a need to control, anxiety about the future, or difficulty letting go.
As our work unfolds, much older fears sometimes emerge.
Fears that seemed to belong to the past but continue influencing present-day choices, reactions, and emotions.
My role is to work directly with these fears, help release them, and allow the person to experience greater freedom in the way they live.
Very often, when these deep fears are released, the need to control everything naturally begins to diminish.
People regain confidence.
They breathe more freely.
They become more comfortable with uncertainty.
They no longer feel the need to carry the weight of the future alone.
Because, ultimately, what we are trying to control is not life itself.
Above all, we are trying to protect ourselves from what we fear losing.
And when those deep fears are finally released, control no longer needs to occupy so much space.
